Well, I thought this would be a fun movement shot. Well, the skunk did not think so. It moved over to me and gave me the you leave or smell this stance. I missed the shot:dunno all movement was behind the camera :huh

    Hi Jeff,

It is a fun shot! I wish you were lucky enough to have captured the skunk from the side. This would have given the viewer the impression of "movement" quite clearly. I know you do wildlife photography and sometimes you only get one chance. So, I'd say considering that, nicely done thumb.gif

For me it works. It immediately makes me think about moving away from the creature.

Does you taking the picture as quickly as possible and then running like hell count as movement? rolleyes1.gif

Seriously, for me this works because you do get the sense he's moving toward you. He is staring you down in that photo. Nice capture. thumb.gif

well from this first shot distance it was cute then got ugly

this is the side shot but with all the fires here in L.A. I guess it was a bit cranky and came over to tell me so or show me

And there was movement behind the camera and it was not me pushing the button. This is the warning a skunk gives you, like a rattle from a snake or a growl from a dog-go away or get the spray today.
Now I am not scared by wildlife much. I have had skunks walk on my feet between my legs but this one was mad. So you are right lots of movement. Me and Nikon took a fast walk backward, it is too bad I shoot alone most of the time -it would have been a Kodak moment
