First Post: Cactus!

    Welcome to DGrin.

    It must be fun to have a new toy. Your photo shows that you are enjoying the DSLR with its shallow DOF.

    Try taking a sheet of paper and covering up the right half of the shot. That will bring the eye more to the cactus and eliminate the dark half that may not be contributing to the composition. If you like this, crop accordingly.
