Hi :D I just got back from a trip up to Melbourne with a friend.......our mission was to try a second time to Shoot the City of Melbourne, and this time we came home with the biggest dang grins on our faces I tell ya :rofl

It rained quite a bit on and off today, and we thought we would have to cancel tonights adventure, but we decided we'd go anyways.

I'm really happy with my second attempt at night shots ....... I can't help meself I am just having an absolute ball learning about my camera :clap :clap
Enjoy........ Skippy (Australia)

Okay........here we go.......details........you see allllllllllllllllll those buildings in the picture headscratch.gif well, that's Melbourne rolleyes1.gif

I used a tripod and my Canon 24mm 1.4 lens, forgot to take my remote control and how annoying is it to use that dang timer on the camera.

The camera set to Aperature Priority........I dunno why but I find I get the most success out using that setting.

Unfortunately it was very very cloudy, and had been raining and threatening to rain so the sky was just a mass of dark clouds that tend to reflect the city lights back off them.........I haven't processed any more shots yet, I will later tonight when I get home from work.

I haven't been to Melbourne for so long......hey I had my first go at light trails too while in Melbourne, I will edit one of those shots tonight too.

    Take Care........... Skippy (Australia)

I'm just trying my hand at all kinds of things these days, I have always enjoyed seeing peoples images of Cities at night, or lovely old buildings at night.

I am happy that I am figuring it out before I go to America, it's only 4 more weeks till I head off, and hopefully my new Canon 400mm will be here end of this week or next so I can go give that a whirl too :)

Thanks for looking take care........... Skippy (Australia)

We almost backed out of the trip, the weather was not being kind at all, but we decided we'd go all the same and check out where we could take photos from, lucky I took Leah with me cause she knew the streets and places so well.

We're going to go again when the weather is nicer, and not so much cloud around..........we had a great night, walked for 6 hours rolleyes1.gif .

    Take Care....... Skippy (Australia)

Melbourne has really cleaned up it's act, it is a very very beautiful city, but again I still would not like to live there, visit yes, live no..... I like my space.
I'm no Spring Chicken, but I've never walked around Melbourne at night before....what a wonderful atmosphere there is along South Bank......I will be going back for sure..... the city skyline sure has changed hasn't it :D

    Take Care Gus...... Skippy (Australia)
