Hi there,

I have a domain name registered with another registrar. I know how to change my domain settings but have been holding off doing this until I have customized my site to my liking. I don't want potential clients looking at the half finished site. It has just occurred to me though that all my customization might be lost when I change the domain name. Is this going to be an issue? I have images and text links set up with my current Smugmug domain name when I switch to my custom domain name will I need to change all the individual codes in my CSS? Will the Navbar settings need to be reset? I'm suddenly getting a bit nervous and hoping there isn't going to be a major problem.

Does that make sense?

Help!!

    Make sure you make your links relative;

    For instance, instead of linking to:
    http://naturalselectionmedia.smugmug.com/galleries

    link to:
    /galleries

    or:
    /gallery/9611893_RJWeC

    instead of
    http://naturalselectionmedia.smugmug.com/gallery/9611893_RJWeC

    If you do that, it will not matter what domain you are using. You can even change your custom domain, and the links will still work thumb.gif

    Thanks Ivar. I just tried that out and it works perfectly. Same applies to the jpg links as well. Phew, I was getting pretty worried for a while there.

    Cheers!
