new father noob photographer help!
hi all,
just became a father. my son is 2 months old. i take great pictures of our honeymoon scenery etc. but when i went to have pictures printed it was all grainy and noisy for my taste. effort and cuteness were gone to waste. when i looked at in through lcd monitor it looked fine but prints were bad.
here are my given:
cant shoot with flash (sensitive baby eyes)
so iso is 800
files is is m2
camera is canon ixus 850is
shoot only indoors
how can i remedy this? experts are welcome!
later on i will have to learn how to shoot active babies in the outdoors. but as of now NOISE is my main concern. Thanks!

I've never heard of your camera so I can't really give specific advice.
If you are taking photos of your baby without flash, try to shoot as wide open as you can. This will keep your shutterspeed up. This will become more important as he/she gets older.
Can you post examples of photos you found too grainy for your liking?

However, based on my transition from P&S to my first DSLR, catching moving children is much, much, much easier with an SLR because of focusing/metering speed. If you can afford it, getting into an entry SLR will be a wise investment.
