Hi folks,
I registered for a domain name, I wanted to get .ca and .com, is it possible to have both pointing to my smugmug site??

You can't properly CNAME two URLs to your smugmug account, but I have been successful at forwarding one domain to another.

www.denisegoldberg.com is properly CNAMEd to smug.

www.denisegoldbergphotography.com is forwarded to www.denisegoldberg.com. This means that the URL shown in the browser changes to www.denisegoldberg.com.

The trick here is to forward to your other (custom) domain name. Forwarding to your smug url will not work.

hmm, okay
I understand the cname thing.

I registered through godaddy through the smugmug help page. Now when I type in craiggosling.ca, it just goes to smugmug.com, whereas craiggosling.com goes to my smugmug site!

It sounds like you may have tried to CNAME both URLs. You can't.

You can forward www.craiggosling.ca to www.craiggosling.com, assuming that you have the CNAME correctly set up on www.craiggosling.com. You can only send one of the two directly to your smugmug account via CNAME.
