Here are a few from my recent visit to a public park. Surrounded by hundreds of ducks I quickly ran out of bread but left with a few keepers. Please enjoy and thanks for looking!

Welcome to the addiction! rolleyes1.gif My favorite things to shoot are the action shots, especially birds in flight.

Good first attempt. BIF is a whole new ballgame. I like the third one best, nice classic landing pose.

I can't seem to pull out the data from the shots but I would humbly offer this...
They seem a bit under exposed. If this was done to stop the action I would suggest bumping up the ISO to compensate instead of under exposing. It could also be a metering thing. It looks like a difficult lighting situation, try using "spot metering" That helps me a lot in harsh light.

    Keep them coming!

    Thanks for the comments,

The lighting was pretty harsh actually and I may have messed a few of these up in post production. They are all around 1/1500 ISO 400 at f/2.8-5.6 I was on shutter priority trying to freeze them and still get enough DOF for the ducks entire body (Very close). Im happy with the first attempt but I feel like I will do better next time. I am very limited at 200mm and ducks are the easiest thing to shoot around here at that range. My mind was really set on the shutter speed and actually getting the ducks in focus without bumping the ISO up too much. I will be back soon for round 2 with the ducks soon before it starts getting too cold.

    Thanks,
    Josh
