What do you get when you take a horse trail in the mountains that goes through a stream and several mud bogs and add a thousand long distance runners? You get a whole bunch of fun.

I hope this was after the race because nobody seems to be in much of a hurry.

fun stuff - recently saw some photos from a "mud run" in our rain starved area and it wasn't any where near as muddy as what you're showing. Great shots and the runners looked like they had fun rolleyes1.gif

Nice series. How did you manage to keep clean?

Reminds me of an event at our Boy Scout Camp called Adventure Valley. Lots of things to crawl over, under and through which happen to be in the middle of the largest mud field I have ever seen. When the boys come out, they are totally covered from head to toe in thick black muck.

    Thanks for sharing the fun!

    Thanks everyone!
Raymond, some of the runners are quite serious and others treat this as a fun workout since it is so early in the season.

rhonda, I didn't stay clean! In fact myself and my camera got splattered with mud. I spent a half hour trying to gingerly clean it but it's still not totally clean.

Nice shots...they reminded me of a XC race my daughter did a few years ago (I wasn't there, but I heard about all the mud). It was a place in Oregon called Trask Mountain. When I looked closer at your pictures, the race numbers say "Trask 2009". Small (& sometimes muddy) world!
