First Sandhills of 2009 Northern CA

Well at least the first I have seen this year. I have been looking for them, but not very successful. Until today while shooting for the DSS 33 challenge I had the shutter speed slow to cause motion blur so the first one was blurry and by the time I had realized the shutter speed and changed over they were getting by me. I thought they were geese at first so I was surprised when I turn around as they got closer. Not the greatest shots but I am happy to see the first of many that will soon show up.
