I would like to create a few folders within one category, but I am having difficulty doing it. I would like the main category to be "sports" then have a folder within the sports titled "football" then within the football folder I would like to list different age groups and finally within the age groups folder, I would like to make a folder with the dates of different games. I hope this makes sense...any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!

You have the ability to create up to 3 levels of organization:
Category > Subcategory > Gallery > photos
I see that you've already started to create your own custom subcategory so that's great! You're on the right track. I hope that you can figure out a good way to sort your photos, although you may need to adjust. Perhaps you can do something like this?
Football > Age Group > Group 1 (2, 3, etc) > photos
This would make Football your category (rather than using "Sports") but it will allow you to do something very close to what you were asking. Just in case, more info about categories are here.
I hope this helps but please let us know if you still need a hand.
Best regards,
Steph

Thank you so much for your help! It helped tremendously knowing there is a limit to the levels of customization! Really appreciate your quick feedback!
created this page to do just that. I added a password (optional) to show how
it can work with family or any other tree you want a single link into and keep
it non-public. The thumbs can link to anywhere, categories, sub-cats,
galleries, other sites, etc. If you follow and click thru both pages you'll see it
ends with a category link to my travel, so after the first two levels is a
category with its three levels.
The links page can have thumbs with links to all your sports categories.
