I know that the D200 is a great camera, but how is it compared to the D90? I am going to check one out tomorrow, and I would like some more info. The internet goes both ways, so....

Thanks! I checked it out, and I can see that it really depends on what you are going to use the camera for. For me, it's the price that matters a lot right now, because the D90 or 200 are great cameras. Stop smirking, and don't tell me ''I told you so''!rolleyes1.gif

Thanks for all of your help friendthumb.gif

I looked through the comparison - from a simple numbers viewpoint, the D200 really doesn't have much, if anything, over the D90. So is it a cost thing that made you choose the D200?

I have both. The d200 has 2 things over the d90. Slightly more robust AF system and fps and 1 button focus point change option. The D90 has more 2M more pixels, much better LCD, the sensor from the d300 (better iso), and smaller body size. The d200 has no scene modes either.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

the D90 has better image quality
the D200 has better build quality, shoots faster, has better AF and is easier to work with.

If you're shooting in controlled situations where you can reshoot, the d90 will get you better results. If you need to get the shot, the d200 will suit you better.
I think the d200 is the better investment because it has already depreciated, and it has quite enough megapickles for me, but understand it blows over iso800

Yes, I know that it blows over ISO 800, I have read so many reviews that I don't want to look at another one in quite a long whilerolleyes1.gif It won't bother me to much because I usually don't go above 400.

Thank you all for the input!
