Finally had an idea I could run with, hope I'm not stepping on anyone's territory. Thanks for looking, all C&C is welcome.

I had to bust out my old Thermodynamics book from my college days.

I like the first and second ones best, too bad that the right side of the images is a little blown out though :(

Thermodynamics. Heheh. Some of my initial thoughts for this topic were also physics-related :)

Agree w/ Kinkajou. Do you have a copy of University Physics, or something else that would have pages on movement/momentum as the topic? Nice idea.

Thanks, I'm a little partial to those too. I used the in camera "Art Filter" for grainy film. It tends to give an extreme contrast. I'll try to get another one tonight that is exposed a little better... or more evenly.

I don't think I kept my old physics books since everything in them was covered from my sophomore through senior years in engineering. Anyway, the thermo book has a section on supersonic flow, and other types of 'movement' and momentum. Thanks a lot for the idea, I'll try to give it a shot tonight. thumb.gif

    Joe,
I have the same problem with my E620 that it blows out the white or lights when using the grainy art filter--but it's my favorite one to use.
I like your idea--I #1 is the best in my opinion--just maybe reshoot so you don't get the blow outs (let me know how you do btw).

Not in Austin, are you? I have some old copies of the Feynman Lectures...

Been a while since I've been in Austin.

Maybe the opposite of movement... I have my statics books... headscratch.gif

Probably polishing canonballs here. Unless the title is very big, I think the subject matter beyong something with lines/arrows will be missed. So the pages around picture 8 are a bit better than the pages in the early shots on that account.

True, and good point. I have a few other books if I can't find anything in the thermo book... I just need to dig them out.

Found a page in my materials science book that may work:

    There ya go! thumb.gif

The graininess works for me in these. Adds some good vibe to the image.
Do you want the text bleed-through on the pages? Could you curb that with some solid white paper behind the page? Not sure either way on if the bleedthrough helps/hinders or it moot.

Thanks once again for the comments. The bleed-through doesn't bother me, so I think I'm going to stick with it as is.

The title, I'm thinking of "Turning the Page - Engineering Transitions"

Perhaps "Page Flipping Through Transitioning Materials?"

I like it! Nice job. thumb.gif

The simple title advocate strikes again... why not 'transition'?

    Thanks.

    Good question...

How about, "Page Transition" or "Next Page?"
