I'm an equine photographer and cover horse shows. I upload each rider number into an individual gallery like you see here http://lizstabbertphoto.smugmug.com/Equine-Event-Proofs/Evergreen-Gaited-Horse-Classic So the event is my sub category and the rider number is the gallery.

Individually creating and then uploading galleries one at a time takes up A LOT of time and I'm hoping you guys have a suggestion to help me. The Lightroom plugin I'm using right now to upload can create a very basic gallery, but it requires uploading the galleries one at a time and they lack a lot of the settings I want (like image protection!) so I have to go back and change the settings by hand anyway.

I have my files set up on my computer as "Event Name>Rider Number" and its my dream to just be able to click on the event folder, select the preset I want and just walk away :barb Theres one more catch: I run a mac (so no Star*Explorer for me :cry)

Any thoughts my fellow smuggers? Is there an awesome uploader I'm missing? Is there a trick to using the ones I've seen? Thanks in advance all!:thumb

StarExplorer. You can either mass create galleries by just typing a gallery name per line in an edit box. Or, it has the ability (which I have never used) to auto-create galleries based on directory names in your file system.

For a soccer season, I typically have organized the images into 20-30 galleries. I create all the galleries in one step in StarExplorer (all with the same galleries settings too) and then I upload all the images in one step (since it can do multi-gallery upload).

It also has a robust queue so if anything doesn't upload properly, it will retry multiple times and then if still not successful, it will just leave that image in the queue so you can see exactly what didn't upload and either take a corrective action or just try again. I NEVER have to manually sort out what did and didn't upload correctly while many other uploaders can leave a real mess if there's any network hiccup. Since I am sometimes uploading 500-1000 images at a time, the odds of a hiccup somewhere along the way are pretty high so it's nice that StarExplorer is robust in that department and never leaves me with a mess to figure out.
