Ok so I need lightroom 2 and this mogrify plug in? I just got light installed but before I go ahead and try to figure out how to use yet another program, how does mogrify work? Where do you create the watermark in? From what I'm reading, mogrify just applies the watermard when you export the file.

ok...got that. but what program am I using to create the watermark? (told you it was silly question time).

and Art, thanks for the google link, but I'm really trying to find a suggestion from someone that has personally used said software. I don't want to pick software that isn't going to meet my needs and just cause trouble on my comp. thanks though.

Yep. I d/l lightroom. Got mogrify and Imagemagick but it then ask for where the watermark is located. And that's where I'm having a problem. What program do I use to create the watermark?

Until you figure out that the programs recommended are not that difficult, do it the quick and easy way:

    1. Open your image in "Full Edit"

    2. Chose the type tool and a font and color you like.

    3. Type (anywhere on your image) 2009 (Alt 0169) Your name. (Alt 0169 produces the copyright symbol.)

    4. Drag the corners of the type box until it is the right size for your image.

    5. Go to "Artwork and Effects" > Type > and emboss or any other feature to make the type more interesting.

    6. Use the Move tool to position the typed line anywhere you want.

    7. On the opacity slider of the type layer, move it to the left until the typed line is visible but not too intrusive.

    8. Save your file as a .psd (in case you want to change it later)

    9. Flatten the image and Save As a .jpg. That's your copyrighted image.

Here's an image done this way. Only Elements was used. I used the Emboss text effect and set the opacity at 50%. I could have placed that line anywhere on the image or made it any size.

Instead of using the emboss feature, copyright text on bird photos should be feathered.

Some professional canine portrait photographer should come up with a watermark that says "Copyrighted - Keep your paws off".
