Cybersteak - focus stacking is a method of increasing the DOF by taking a series of pictures at different focus depths and then combining them in focus bits into one picture. Example tutorial here. http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=61316

Commonjunks- was using my MPE-65 for these shots.

LV thanks for that explanation. I thought that was what you were talking about but wanted to make sure. The instructor I had in the course I took spoke of doing this but mentioned using Helicon software. Are you familiar with that software? If so, which is easiest to use?

What Kind of camera do you use?

CS - I did try helicon a few years ago but then it did not seem to have much advantage over the freeware combine series for me. I'm now using zerene stacker which is just still in free beta but does seem to have many advantahes over the combine series.

RA - I was using my 5Dmk2 camera body but you get similar results with a 1.6 crop DSLR.

Not certain but think the fuchsia is peppermint candlestick or something like that - you do get some pink striping on the blue when the flower opens fully and elongates.
