Junk or not junk?

I originally discarded those as junk, but I grew to like them. It was an extremely bright sunset and the Sun had a huge orange halo around it.
Obviously, the camera... okay... I metered in the wrong place and got some interesting pics.

Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm

It means a lot to me. I am new at most stuff that does not involve photographing a watch so this gives me a much needed boost to keep on going with it. Even though this is an accidental shot.

Usually she is easy to spot.
Here is the same plane, shot a few month prior to those that I posted (those were shot with a D50).

Yup, very nice results, whatever you intentions. Reminds me of one of my favorite sayings that often applies to photography: Luck beats brains.
