Yet another "Flash" question.

I want to purchase my first flash, I only have my on- camera flash which I hate to use.
I have an Olympus E620. Any suggestions?
I need it for everyday use such as family gatherings in low light conditions, I'm starting to experiment with portraits and notice that sometimes one face is lit more than the other and need "fill flash".

Any suggestions for a relatively easy to use flash for a beginner as well as something that can still be used as my skills improve.

I picked up a used FL-36R at a decent price. It's a great little flash, and I haven't found a need for the FL-50R... yet.

The off-camera features make it a lot of fun.

What's your budget? FL-36R can be a good choice (as mentioned).
Don't forget about the third party units. Metz is one of the best.
For the price close to FL-36R you can get Metz 48

Thank you all for your response--I will be looking at both flashes--they seem close in range as far as price goes, so thank you for the recommendations.

Alisha159, welcome to the Digital Grin. clap.gif

Would you mind elaborating on your Metz experience. I had heard that the Metz TTL is not as full featured as E-TTL II (Canon) or i-TTL (Nikon). What have you found regarding flash exposure accuracy?

    Thanks,
