WFT! Where are my categories?

I was busy uploading some new photos to a new gallery. Once done I refreshed my browser window (Firefox 3.5)
And my categories are gone. They no longer appear on the Homepage layout dropdown tool. They no longer appear in my Control panel-->Customize--> Category list.
Tried that send an e-mail to help. Great! Could write it, but there is *NO* submit button, only a close widow button. Lot of good that is.
What the H - E - Double Hockey sticks is going on around here lately?

Whatever happened has corrected itself. I have all my categories.
But this wasn't a figment of my imagination. I checked this out in two different browsers (IE & FF).
Hopefully, it will not happen again.
