I was in Charlotte South Carolina this past week. Really interesting history behind the city. I found this guy playing his heart out on the streets.. he was playing non-stop all day. Anyway.. his features were really weathered and his eyes told me the story of a hard life.

what do you think? cc always welcome. btw.. i know the blue tones are really soft.. and i added grain for some texture.

I really like them. Can't decide if I like the empty sidewalk more than the guy walking away in 1/2. I'm tending toward the empty sidewalk. I love his sly look at you in 3/4. Both of these are great!

Freakin' fantastic!!!!! bowdown.gifthumb.gif These are wonderful. I think I like 3 the best - the single eye (and also that the blown highlights don't catch my eye too strongly). Between the 1st two, I prefer number one without the pedestrian.... Kind of emphasises the solitary-ness better, too.

The pedestrians are very distracting to me in 2 & 3. Sometimes environmental factors can add a little umph to a portrait, but in this case I find you have such a strong subject, you don't need the distractions. Also, with a title like "The Soloist" I would only expect to see one person in the frame. :D

Good captures. The conversion on #4 works the best, IMHO.

    great stuff
Love the empty sidewalk -- especially to go with the title 'soloist'. Favorite pic though is 3 by far. That look is priceless -- I would say one-of-a-kind, but I can't help but think of Jack Nicholson.
