check out this wedding lighting nightmare
Outdoor wedding, shaded spot for the ceremony. Scouted it out in advance, everything was looking cool to shoot natural light so left the speedlights in the car. The ceremony begins and the bride sits down and turns out the sun had moved just slightly-- enough to spotlight only the bride! Yikes!
The solution? Get the wedding party to hold up a scrim!
Just joking. The "scrim" is actually part of the ceremony. It's a Persian tradition (lucky for me!)

It's a nice Jewish Tradition too..a wedding canopy and is called a Chuppa. Makes for really nice light!

The first one is well....the sun moved, what can I say?
The second one is better, but IMHO, I wish they where all looking at the camera for this posed shot, no?

This is more and more a problem with so many cameras pointing in the direction of the wedding party!

Um, nope. This is part of the ceremony. No posing.
I shot plenty of posed shots of family groups and the bridal party that turned out fantastic. Lots of PJ style of preps and the ceremony. Just thought this was interesting because the light. It's not often that a sunbeams picks just one person-- the bride at that-- out of a crowd!
