Help! "display: categories • galleries" Site organization ???

I'd prefer a simply organization with a clean tree structure for my Smugmug gallery collections but I can't seem to find the right solution. Showing categories on the homepage seemed to be the logical choice. I've narrowed my categories down to 6 for now.

But what if I have a category that has only one gallery in it? It's quite redundant to have the visitor click the category, and then simply click again, on the same thumbnail with possibly the same name for the gallery link. See my link below for an example.

Someone else must have solved this already.

Does anyone have a good solution to share?
