I could increase the brightness of the foreground, but the image quality isn't there due to the lack of light at the time of capture and I was also wanting to convey the atmosphere of the few moments before night falls.
This is such a pretty time of the day, and I do wish I could see that house a bit more, too! Have you tried taking two exposures at this time of day so that you don't have to try to dig in the darkness to recover the foreground? I think one short exposure for the sky and a longer one to catch the warm evening house lights would be perfect

I should have thought to take two exposures, it's something I've done before and I've no idea why I didn't this time.
It's somewhere I can get to easily so will no doubt be there again for a similar sky. I've since bought an ND grad so I'll put that to use next time.
