I hope you followup with other shots taken with this lense. I think it's next on the list if I don't end up buying a new tri-pod or a flash instead. What camera are you using? I have a Canon 40D so I'm not even sure if extensions are an option for me. You're certainly getting a lot closer with them though.

Canon 40D. Tubes work just fine. I was using MF but if you were very precise the Autofocus was working with the 20mm Tube + EF 2x TC.
And very cool to hear that this can be done with the 40D. Quite excited about this. Opens up a whole lotta possibilities.

the 100 2.8 IS L is not available yet.
the 100 2.8 is an amazing macro lens (haven't used it with tubes) and doubles as an UBER sharp portrait lens.
Excellent photo. I prefer #1 as it's exposed better and focused better. Crazy looking spider...

The first one is great! Looks like the second focused just behind the eyes. With that thing I can't blame you for not sticking around longer!
I missed the focus point a little bit. I noticed when I got back inside. Was my first real shoot and bug after getting the 100mm.
