First Engagement Shoot

I second shot with Shima at this engagement shoot on the 19th... I'm still getting into the photography and really this is the first time I've had guidence in about 6 years... and only my fifth time out with digital (and not film

)

I am shooting with old nikon lenses (my grandfather's from when he was a photographer in the 70s/80s) so all focus is manual. I'm using a Nikon d60 so not top of the line but great for someone like me whose learning

I did not use a flash because up until this weekend I have never used a flash on a camera (outside of a point and shoot) :rolleyes...

Nice work here! Watch for the horizon through the head in #4. Something to try next time: in photo #6, try opening up the aperture all the way for a different look. Not necessarily better or worse, but different.

You made me proud, it was lots of fun to bring you with as a second shooter since we were already friends before this it made for no awkwardness! I really enjoyed having you there!

Of the ones you chose to post here 2 and 6 are ones I just love

PS - this was September 13th, the wedding we did was on the 19th

Solid ring shot - and obviously #6 is a winner.

I wish #1 was a bit brighter however... just seems too dark for my tastes.

#2 is nice as a stand alone shot - but in the context of the others I think it may be a touch over processed. The hair looks so much lighter that I had to make sure it was the same lady.

#6 - FANTASTIC!!! - That will be a classic for years to come in their family album.

Overall, I really like this set. Nice job.
