Sloss Furnace

A few from Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham taken a couple months ago. Producer of "pig iron" in the late 1800s, and the only blast furnace in the US preserved for public use.

    :smo Beautiful location!! The last one is my favorite, with the classic interior soft light. Your subject there is so Tim Burton, too. Just gorgeous.

    The words "blast furnace" have got to be some of the prettiest words in the English language lol3.gif

    Nice series! I've been to B'ham many times with family but never went to the furnaces. I'll have to check it out on my next visit. I really like your B&W treatments.

    Thanks so much. The first was processed with HDR and the rest with Silver Efex Pro. I did keep the color in most of the photos I took as I really liked the rusty texture, but the machinery for some reason kept looking better with B&W.
