Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM ????
I'm thinking of buying the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM For my 50D. I would like to buy an L lens but money is a little tight. I was just wondering if owners of this lens are happy with it, and what are the weaknesses of this lens.
Thanks,
Robert A.

It's a pretty nice lens and has some similarities to Canon "L" lenses of similar range. A lot of people like this zoom and it has a lot going for it.
Not a very good indoor zoom, but in good light it can yield very nice results. Try to stop down at least 1 stop from the largest aperture for better results. "IS" is the real deal and helps out considerably.

The 75-300 does not get reviewed as well as the new version 70-300 does. But I have pleased with mine.
Here is an example, I took this last weekend.
If you can pick up a good used version at a good price it should serve you well.
