Uploaded videos are on the wrong orientation

I took some videos with my Canon digicam as well as my iPhone in a vertical position.
When I import into Picasa, they are okay (i.e. videos are in the vertical position).
But when I upload to smugmug, they are in a horizontal position. That means, my subjects in the video is now in a vertical position.
May I know how to correct this ?
