With wedding season being over for me, I am trying to shoot as many models as I can. Sonia was an awesome model to work with and we really had a blast. This frame for me stood out, most of the times I wouldnt be happy with the arm, but I remember seeing this in camera and liking the look.
Lighting was window light and reflector just out of frame camera right.
Its all work in progress, please feel free to give me the good and the bad.

I like the setting, I like the light, I like the texture on the wall, and the colors. I'm not fond of how smoothed the model looks- she really does look plastic.

Nice capture here. I agree with Caroline on the softness level....other than that ... spot on nice shot.

Love it and love the softness too, just watch out and keep certain lines / don't soften them too much.

And I looooove the wall!!

I'm not original, but it's a bit too smooth for my taste also Otherwise very nicely done!

Thanks for the replies everyone, I really wanted to bring out a doll like quality, but will re edit and ease off on the skin softening which wasnt alot...BUT...Sonia does have great skin, combine that with makeup and some post softening it may have gone a bit past acceptable...

Will you repost a re-edit (if you decide to try a re-edit)? The smoothness mostly bothers me on her hands for some reason. On her face it's just a touch smoother than my taste, but not totally unacceptable.

I like the overall effect. Love the textured wall too! She is not too soft for my taste....I guess I see way too much crappy skin! Love it! I do agree about watching certain lines..I wonder if Caroline is talking about the right arm..the one hanging..it does look plastic-y...but no complaints~ Nice shot~

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will try a re-edit on the weekend and post it up.

I have been thinking about my process on this one and I actually toned down the post smoothing BUT what I forgot to consider is Sonia had really great skin to begin with and I also had a makeup artist on site to do the makeup which was my 1st time doing this. So its possible that I started off with way better skin than I am used to..and didnt account for that in post.

Yep, the hanging arm looks like a Barbie arm. I do like the contrast of her smooth skin and the textured wall, but that may be why the post on her skin looks so overdone.

Spent a bit of time rediting the original. Scaled the skin work way back and I think it looks better. Added photo to first post..
