Any update on the Facebook posting problems with 'be social'?

I now can't upload at all, I keep getting the error, "There was an error, please check your data and try again" in red under the text box after I hit the "share on facebook" button.

Also, did we ever get to the botton of my some browsers would like back to the first photo in the gallery fo the picture posted instead of the picture itself?

I am really looking to use the facebook social link, it is how I stay in touch, photo wise, with people.

Hey Greg, so we now have a 'debug' mode to help us diagnose these problems. Would you mind clicking on the below link and trying to post to Facebook again?

Safari, OSX 10.6.

Also, what about the problem where, when it does manage to post to facebook, the links are bad and point to the wrong photos?

[EDIT: I put that debug=true URL param at the end of my URL and tried again, it now posted to facebook and the photo actually links back to the correct photo. I guess I will try a few more times. Did you roll out any fixes along these lines in the last several weeks?]

Yes, we did roll out 2 updates, one that we hoped fixed outstanding posting issues (and added debug mode), and one that fixed the wrong photo URLs.

So the error code you posted below makes it look like Facebook was actually experiencing some technical issues--meaning we didn't receive any response from them at all. We've been seeing this a bunch over the past week.

I'll continue to look into it, and will contact them to see if they're still experiencing problems. Let me know if you continue to have more problems, and if so, what the errors are.

It would be VERY helpful if you posted that somewhere. I am on these forums and the 'release notes' pages every day. I would have been using the facebook social stuff had I known that you rolled out any fixes.

Am I missing some other place I should be looking?

For our Be Social page: Fixed escape issue with quotation marks, fixed up lingering Facebook permission problems and custom domain snags with Twitter and Facebook, and added the ability to flip through images.

Before that fix I could not log onto facebook at all. After that fix I started having the problems described in this thread. But yes, someplace like that release page. They tend, it seems, to only post to that page for major releases. Not quite sure how it works behind the scenes, but it seems they can roll out fixes to stuff like this facebook code in a different way.

canon, that's actually not an error message. I'm guessing that posted correctly no? This number is the ID of the newly posted updated at facebook '547793613_165670083613'

My facebook share app is working, however the twitter one doesn't work for me. The testing one from Smugmug worked but not one from my own site!

Code from twitter debug test was

Smugmug test post showed up on twitter, my photo link tweets don't.

Facebook debug test code was

Smugmug post showed up just like mine do. On FF 3.5.4 windows XP

Any thoughts?

A bit off the topic, but still related...

What's the status of facebook connect when using a custom domain?

For example: at my About Page I can connect to facebook to post comments when I visit through my smugmug sub-domain, but not through my custom domain.
