Earscapes: An Investigation into Communication - Large Post

I am going to be in my second "gallery opening". I say this with ""'s because the gallery is my A/V store I work for, and we display all the art work on HD TVs. However it is right in the Pearl District in Downtown Portland where all the art galleries are. Many of them open on what they call "First Thursday" where every first Thursday of every month, the galleries open to the public from about 6pm - 9pm. This is our second event as a "gallery" and we are working on making it a monthly thing. We have good music (as we are an A/V store), wine, food, good art, and fun!
If you're in the Portland area and want to check it out, stop by at 2 NW 10th St, Portland. Corner of NW 10th and Burnside right across the street from Powell's Books.
Anyways, this is my project I'm putting in the gallery opening this Thursday Oct. 1st. There are 20 photos, and 19 different ears. Ran out of time and people to get the last one to make 20 photos of 20 different ears.
Earscapes: An Investigation into Communication
By forcing people to look at the ear more closely, I hope to be able to make a change in the way we communicate. So few people in today's society actually have a real life conversation anymore that no one even pays attention to the utensils that we were given to truly listen to one another. Whether it be by telephone conversation, text, email or chatting, the way we communicate is becoming more distant.
The Earscape is seemingly becoming more of a protected rain forest when it should be a public beach. Instead of becoming just another one of those conveniences we know is there and use yet seldom pay attention to, the Earscape should be respected as a tool to learn with, gain knowledge from and be used to help others.
My photos were gathered from friends and family in an investigation to examine the ear in a way that leaves the mind wondering. To bring up conversation about well we actually listen on a day to day basis.

Thank you all for looking. I would really like some serious C&C on this project. It would have been nice to get more samples (ears), but time was a constraint. I think it could improve from where it is at, but not sure if it will.

No, all on one screen. 20 seconds each then on to the next photo. 6 min and 40 sec from start to finish. I hadn't thought of accompanying audio for them, but that's an interesting thought. I think if it were in a different situation (not an A/V store and in more of a real gallery) the audio would work good. However we are going to be having music play throughout the store fairly loudly...so it wouldn't work. Plus I want the focus on the photos, not something else as that is the entire point, to focus on the ear more closely.
But...interesting idea.

Tom
I see that some of them are a little repetitive, but they are all different in their own way. Thanks for the applause. :-D
Any other C&C? I'm really looking for it on this project...
