Sub sites or secondary site

I have recently picked up a large social sports group. I am trying to streamline their website experience.

Is it possible to keep my website as is for other customer sales, portfolio, etc. But then create another site either with a subdomain like http://SocialSports.mywebsite.com

or even a whole new domain. But without having to pay for a 2nd SM account?

A given smugmug account can only show one custom domain. It's possible (though not generally recommended) to redirect a different domain to a location on your existing site, but once you are there, it will show your current domain, not the new domain.
