With sports, you want to get in as close as possible. Personally, I like portrait orientation the best - try to fill 2/3 of the frame. Get low - especially with kids.

#2 and #3 are decent - but would be better cropped in quite a bit. In #2, try to isolate the player with the ball.

    Here's a few examples...

    Keep shootin, and keep postin'.

Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.

Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...

When i shoot soccer, I usually do portrait... I don't know why I shot all the football ones landscape... I guess I need to learn the rules a little more. I kept on following the wrong guy... headscratch.gif

    Yes! A lot better.

Also, expose for the face. (which it seems you've done) That (for me) means that I bump up the Exposure Compensation by 2/3 of a stop usually. Especially when I'm shooting into the sun.

    Thanks!

I agree with the cropping tightly for sports. The only other comment would be not ( in general) cropping the limbs. All of the shots you cropped cut out the legs of the players. Obviously this can't always be achieved , but it makes for better shots.
