Staying logged in issue...

Kind of. So I've been having this problem for awhile and it's getting rather annoying.

I'm logged into my account. going through my page and select a category. Still logged into my page. Select a gallery. Not logged into my page. Press the back button. Re-select the gallery. Logged in again.

Within the same point, if I'm browsing the web, and select my website bookmark (on my toolbar in FF), it goes to my page, however I'm not logged in. So I click the Smugmug link at the bottom of my page to log in, and hey! I'm logged in already. I have it keep my logged in, but every time I go to my page, I gotta go to the log in page then click your photos. It doesn't just let me go to my page and be logged in.

Any ideas?

In your Firefox preferences in the Privacy tab do you have Accept Cookies from sites and Allow cookies from third party sites checked on? Do you have the 'keep until' setting set to 'until they expire'? These would be the recommended settings and what to check as a first step.

It was just on "remember History", so I selected the use custom settings option, and all of what you said was already checked. so I just left it there.

Just tried my website. Seems to be working fine now.

So this is happening still. The suggestion posted earlier worked at first, but I'm still having this issue.

Any ideas?

did you change your cookies? Addons? Anything?

Nope. Not that I know of. I tend to not mess with the preferences. I just open FF, use it, and close it. Don't really do much other stuff...

I've had a lot of odd log-in log-out issues that I'd never had before too. I believe it's been just within the past week, maybe 2 weeks. I use FF 3.5.3. & never do anything with settings. I'll be logged in, then I go to check on something in another gallery & I'm not. Visitor View acts oddly too, much of the time. It will often not give me a logged-out view on the first try, and tends to take me back to the homepage rather than the page I was on. Then I'll click "owner view" and I may not be logged in anymore. I've also gotten asked to log in & supply a password to see my un-passworded-galllery-slideshow... but it's been a few days since that happened. Just off & on a lot of little glitchy things surrounding log-in & log-out. I never used to do a thing with it- was basically always logged in unless I checked visitor view. Now I have to look at the bottom of the screen a lot to see what it's claiming-- that I'm in or out! Sometimes that doesn't match what I see on the rest of the screen. (the word "log-in" will be showing, but I'm seeing all the buttons I usually see when logged in, for instance). I'll let you know if it becomes un-glitchy.

I've had this problem for as long as I can remember. Currently using FF3.5 on Vista.

Bug fix for FF3.5 Win and IE Win, staying logged in while browsing the site and NOT closing the browser window - this is in test now and hopefully live later this week (Thursday night?)

Just re-started FF and it installed a new update. Home page went to Google. Clicked on my bookmark on my tab bar, and it went to my homepage. I was not logged in. I clicked on my photos tab, still not logged in. Went back to home page. Still not logged in. Clicked on the smugmug link at the bottom of the page, it shows I'm logged in.

I clicked the "Your Photos" link to take me back to my page where I am logged in. Selected my "Other" category, then selected a gallery. Once in that gallery, I am NOT logged in. I then went page back, clicked on the same gallery, and now I'm logged in.

Same issues I was having from the start.

Just was browsing the intranets, decided to check out my website. Clicked on my bookmark tab link, and I was logged in. Went into a gallery, and it was still logged in.

Don't know what happened or what you did, but it seems to be working for now.

I've been having this problem since I upgraded to FF3.5.4 two days ago. Under Privacy>"Clear history when Firefox closes" I've tried switching everything off, but that still doesn't help. Definitely a FF thing and nothing to do with Smugmug as all my cookies do get deleted when I close FF.

[edit]I found under Linux it's a permissions problem. cookies.sqlite has the wrong owner. I have no idea how Windows handles permissions, but what I've read is that if you find and delete this file, the problem is fixed as it gets rebuilt. How to find it.
