We do not have a music feature built-in currently. However, you can use the following method to add music to your site (Power and Pro accounts only):

If there's anything else we can help you with, feel free to let us know at any time.

If you're going to add music, make sure there is a prominent off button. Better yet, don't start playing it until requested by the viewer.

I know, I know, you didn't ask, and I have a very strong opinion. I have to tell you that my immediate reaction when opening a site that insists on playing music is to close it. Make sure that you know your viewers well.

If I find the gallery interesting enough but don't like the music, I'll just turn off the vol. That's me.

You may be right that some will be turned off if the music don't suit them but its as simple as turning off the vol from the com, isn't it? Or its too much of the chore of lowering the vol. till zero, hence its better to skip totally. Perhaps you have more experience to share further.

As far as I'm concerned unsolicited music is a form of noise pollution. The off button isn't always obvious, and the noise always goes away immediately if I close the browser window, so that's what I do. That's one opinion, but there are many others that share that. For example, see DrDavid's list of "Really Bad Ideas".

Another reason? Do any of your viewers open your site at work? In that case, web sites with sound are a really bad idea.

    Denise,

Thanks for the links and great info. Didn't think of the simple fact that we may like the music but we cannot force others to listen. How true. Anyway, I'm just a hobbyist and my site is on default setting. Thought of adding some classical music but suppose I'll drop the idea.

The other thing is that many people listen to their own music while browsing the web. It really sounds terrible when you're listening to a song you like and all of a sudden a website is playing totally different music at the same time, and as Denise said many people have the knee-jerk reaction of closing the tab immediately. From experience I know that there's usually a way to turn it off, so I'll look for it, but I've visited far more photographer's websites with music than the average potential client probably has.
