Not cool at all.

Hastings, Florida - in the northeast part of the state - calls itself "The Potato Capital of Florida". This photo was taken in an abandoned potato-processing facility. The growers would bring in trailer-loads of potatoes for sorting and bagging before the next step in marketing them. They're gone, but there's evidence that the sorting was done by some sort of machinery. Still, the process would have been labor-intensive.

Photography can present history, and not all history is what we like to see. The era shown in this photograph is not pleasant, but we can't ignore it. Judging by the fact that the restroom signs were lettered on acrylic sheets, this isn't history that is all that ancient.

History isn't alway pretty, but like you said it can not be ignored.

Haven't seen signs like that since I was young traveling down south.
