Memories of Rt66

Last February, Aaron Newman (anwmn1) and I spent a couple of days photographing the stretch of Rt66 from Seligman to Yucca, AZ. Aaron posted his shots shortly thereafter, but I promptly forgot about them until now. :rolleyes So here without further ado are a few of my shots from that memorable occasion.
On the way to Seligman, with fresh snow on the ground, we decided to do some exploring down a rutted road.
And soon found ourselves in a very deserted area.
Finally made it to Seligman
Some local color
One of many abandoned buildings in Seligman
Crozier Canyon is a good place to photograph trains
The Hackberry General Store is pretty much the only thing in Hackberry.
Kingman
Train Trestle over the Holy Moses Wash
Topock (or thereabouts) teddy bear cholla cactii
Yucca, truck lift (you should see the size of the mechanic :wink)
Thanks for looking. :thumb

Thanks, Awais! Glad you like this little glimpse of Americana. Should you decide to ever visit this area, it would be my honor to be your personal guide.

Thanks, Shimon! There are zillions of places like that out here. Here's one from a previous outing. This is the school for white kids in Valentine on the Indian reservation. (The Indian school in town was much larger.)

Thanks, Mary Kim! I'm glad you enjoyed them. There's a lot to see along Rt66 for sure.
