Alentejo. Alentejo means beyond "Tejo". Tejo is the name of the main river that crosses my country. Everything beyond that river to the south, features an exquisite architecture, based on the colours and design that Morocco Muslims left as an heritage of their presence here. It´s easy to find the blue. yellow and whitecolous, also common in the buildings of the north of Africa. Even the majority of the villages there, have got their names based on the ancient arab terninology, often starting with "Al"... Alentejo, Algarve, Aljezur, Alandroal, Alter, and many others... Some of these images, were taken at those places...

Rui, stunning! Even in the midday sunlight the town and the surroundings are just beautiful. This is definitely a town with an old world feel thumb.gif

Thanks. Actually these images were captured at several different places but all sharing the architecture, colours and mood of Alentejo.
