I have been a member for sometime and lurk alot.
I am jumping in finally with a post of a bluejay that visits my backyard. I took this with my Canon 50D and a Canon 100mm lens. Critiques welcome. I can't figure out how to post from my computer so adding picture from my SkyDrive acct. If you click the picture it will show larger.Thanks.

Fun shots of the jay. That is quite a mouthful in the first one.

Thanks for sharing and keep on posting!

Total amateur and haven't posted anything of note here yet, but love that first pic. Love the detail on the full-size version. The second one isn't as clear to my eyes, but again, I'm an amateur and haven't posted anything of note. :D

Enjoyed the pictures! That's a pretty finial on your feeder pole. Is that by any chance the APS pole? I desperately need a new bird feeder set-up and have looked at the APS system at Wild Birds Unlimited. I don't remember seeing that particular finial though.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to reply.
Joie..no its not an APS system (had to google that lol) It is just a very inexpensive iron plant holder hook we bought at Walmart. I just put a wire basket lined with a plastic jelly mould bowl inside so the peanuts wouldn't fall out and I got my first ever, in over 25 yrs here, bluejays to visit the yard. Up until last year I never even saw one before. This bluejay has no fear and will come to within a foot of me it is so tame.
