D40 with kit lens? nice work sir! The eye shot is great. The rest are pretty damn good as well. Only thing..the girl with the cowboy hat..the tip of her noce loosk like there is giant dimple on it. Maybe she really does have giant dimple on her nose or maybe it is a trick of the lightwings.gif

    Very nicely done clap.gif

I personally prefer #1, 6 and 7 the most out of these. #1 is a bit dark on top, and I'm not sure the hat stands out enough, but the smile, look and light on the woman make up for it thumb.gif. #6 is just a nice shot, nice silhouette lighting. It's very clear that they are looking at each other, also. #7 is very nice, also! nice eyes, light and the hat really stands out nicely here. I don't really care too much about #2 and #5; #2 is just a belly (button) and a bit of clothing. I'm missing something here. #5 I think could use a bit more contrast; I think it doesn't match up to the quality of your other shots. All in all a great series though thumb.gif

It does have 'mood', but has a bit of clutter, which is what is distracting.

Those others are great though. The last one and the bridge shot are killer!
