Yes, but it was pouring down rain and didn't see any. I then headed on over to Baxter and I got lost on the way (not really, but ran around for hours on nothing but muddy dirt and gravel roads - I think they must still be working on the mapping of backwoods Maine). I finally made it to Baxter. I did get a quick glimpse of a cow and calf, but too deep in the woods to make a good capture. The state ranger told me that the wind was spooking the moose. Since it was calling for 15-20 mph winds the next day as well I decided to just to head south. Moosehead Laks was great - just wish the weather hadn't turned so bad.

    Lauren,

It was great meeting you as well. BTW, I did check at the photo shop and they said your tripod was defective. They claimed that model tripod shipped with the head attached and it was not suppose to come out.

    David,

I will be posting more tomorrow. Still working on a few of them.

Moose hunting went bust because the wind was howling up above Bangor when I went to shoot the moose. A ranger told me that they stay hunkered down when the wind blows like that. I did catch a glimpse of a moose cow and calf, but too much in the trees to even try to take a photo.

I did get these shots of a juvenile red-tail hawk when I stopped at Gettysburg on the return home. Just click on either image below to see the larger ones in the post I made in the Wildlife Forum.

    Great job on the hawks!

Thanks for the info on the tripod. I'll get ahold of B&H and see what they can do. It surely has held up well with your temp fix!
