How High the Moon?

My first proper Moon shot. Borrowed a 75-300 off a colleague. It's a little soft overall but it at least allowed me to get my first ever shot of the moon with decent detail on it :)

Thank you all for your kind comments. It certainly is a tough one. I set up central AF point on the dark side, focussed and took the shot. Switched to review the image and by the time I'd got back to the view finder (about 15 seconds), the darn central AF point was almost on the other side of the moon, it moves so quickly :)

I'm going to try at a smaller aperture and slightly slower shutter to see if I can crisp up the detail a little more. It's a budge 75-300 that I loaned but still, it's good enough for my first shots :)

The moon sure does move fast :-).
The best way to focus is to use liveview if your camera has it.

    I'm afraid I don't have Liveview. Using a 400D.

    50D maybe next year :) - t'is what I'm aiming for I have to say. :)

Next year I'd recommend to get 7D. They will come down in price, and they are sooo much beter than 50D
