Non-passworded unlisted gallery asks for password

We're using SmugMug to host our in-house photo library, so we can easily archive, find, and share with our design house. This is working pretty well; however, it also means that we generally don't want all galleries to be searchable or publicly visible.

However, we do have a couple of galleries from events that I'd like to allow event participants to view. They are http://killingtonmountainschool.smugmug.com/Sports/GolfTournament2009/ and http://killingtonmountainschool.smugmug.com/Sports/Golf-Tournament-2008/.

When I attempt to view them while not logged in, I get redirected to the Sports category index and prompted for a password.

I've tried searching and looking through the privacy controls, but I can't seem to find anything relevant.

Did I miss something obvious or have I found a bug?

You are trying to use the nicename URL for an unlisted gallery. Smugmug does not allow that. This is your nicename URL you are trying to use:

    http://killingtonmountainschool.smugmug.com/Sports/GolfTournament2009/

Instead, you have to use a different URL. You can use either of these forms of the URL (you fill in the appropriate gallery ID and gallery key at the end):

    http://killingtonmountainschool.smugmug.com/gallery/xxxxxx_yyyy

    or

    http://killingtonmountainschool.smugmug.com/Sports/GolfTournament2009/xxxxxx_yyyy

Both will work because they include the gallery ID and key at the end.

Hmm. That made sense, but then I tried it. When I go to "Get a link" and copy the link, I get
    http://killingtonmountainschool.smugmug.com/Sports/GolfTournament2009/9825521_g5jc2/1/667708236_nzcfk

When I paste that link into another browser (in which I'm not logged in to SmugMug), I get a password prompt. I get the same if I replace the Sports/Golf.../ (i.e. the NiceName) with "gallery" (sans quotes).

I have gone into the gallery settings and hit "save" with the gallery password boxes empty; I'm not sure what other settings I should be checking.

You have a site-wide password, set in the Control Panel.

    Ah, so that's it.

I had expected the per-gallery settings to override the site-wide setting. I think I just need to trust the "unlisted" setting to keep things hidden at the site-wide level and then password galleries as desired.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Site-wide is site-side. Can't see anything without first entering the site-wide password.
