I wouldn't pick him up either

I've always got one or two of these guys in my backyard every summer. I know they're beneficial, eating other insects and all. But they do freak me out a little bit. Funny, I don't mind snakes, praying mantises, many other bugs. But spiders and centipedes - I keep my distance. Not a full blown phobia but a strong avoidance thing. :uhoh

I'll leave these shots to the macro guys :):

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.
