Nice composition, Richard. I'd try to boost the contrast - quite a bit.

It's a nice shot, but it also seems too bright (some glare off headlight), maybe knocking down the EV might reduce some of it?

They always have these little affairs at mid-day, so the light is usually pretty harsh. This one was no exception. OK, here's a reworked version:

Better? If anyone would like to try a different version of the processing, here's a link to an XL color version. http://rsinmadrid.smugmug.com/photos/674242910_Y6gJw-XL.jpg I like the color version as well, BTW. YMMV. ne_nau.gif

I like it better. Seems to have resulted in higher sat. Nice shot

Not just more contrast, but also some sharpening:

Yes. I noticed something a little strange in this one, in that the posted version looked much less sharp than not only on my machine (which is not unusual) but also in the SmugMug gallery. One idea was that browser resizing was affecting it badly, but it certainly doesn't seem to have affected your version. headscratch.gif

There was no resizing of my version after sharpening. I posted the original (XL) size and that's also what I sharpened.

FWIW, my B&W conversion and sharpening techniques are pretty evolved.
