Question before screwing up Google CNAME

Hi, I've spent some time reading your domain stickies, and also on google.
It appears I may be able to transfer my google domain to GoDaddy, or I can redirect my google app domain. All very confusing to me:
http://siteshelp.kccloudsolutions.com/step-by-step-guides/cnamealiasmappinghowdoesitallwork#TOC-Mapping-my-Site

Before I try this I better ask. Thinking I better send my password and let the Doc do it. I don't want to screw it up first. All I want is my Google enom domain address which is www.ocwildlife.com added to smugmug. I am confused as to what is the CNAME.
Thnx for any help. I thought I'd ask here if there is a simple answer.

CNAME is one of the methods we use with your domain provider to direct your domain to SmugMug. It works with most if not all domain providers so who you use (Godaddy, etc) is up to you.

I know, but how do you find the CNAME? From reading the link I posted it sounds complicated enough for me to ask first, as to what exactly I am supposed to do?
Can I actually transfer my Google app. domain to GoDaddy, or from the smugmug instructions I am confused as to where I get the CNAME and how I fill in my domain name in smugmug settings. thnx
    directions here from smugmug:
I have a domain name with another registrar.

You must specify a CNAME record with the registrar you purchased your domain from. A CNAME acts as your unique code name like 007 is for James Bond.
Every registrar uses a different set of controls to allow you to change your domain settings. Contact your registrar and ask them this question:
"How do I set up a CNAME record for my domain to point to domains.smugmug.com?"
It might seem like Greek to you, but your registrar should respond with step-by-step instructions specific to their site.
You'll find great help for some of the other domain registrars on our wiki.

No matter what domain provider you use, the CNAME is the same. It should be your URL (www.yourdomain.com or photos.yourdomain.com or whatever you want to use to point to your SmugMug) CNAMEd to: domains.smugmug.com
