I took those the other day while taking a walk in the park with my girlfriend.
The day was very bright and I did not have the flash with me, so there are tons of shadows and highlights.
The lens used was the 35mm f/1.8 Nikkor.

Very pretty girl!
1: Don't like tilts (looks like either the subject or the photographer has just fallen over)
2: My problem with #2 is that the eyes aren't in focus (but the hairline is)
3: I feel I want to turn around to see what she's looking at

First one, aside from tile asthetics, see if you can at least tone down that sun spot on her nose.
#2 is fantastic. Is the focus really off on her eyes? If found the sometimes if you don't unsharp enough on the compression to post, you get softness in the forums.
I like your posing in 3&4, which also seem soft at this resolution, but the lighting and composition seem very nicely done.

1. I'm on the fence with tilts. Sometimes I do... sometimes I don't.
2. Those are more or less snapshots and I must admit that I did not put much thought into it when I took the pics. I JUST picked up the lens about half hour before from the store and I was eager to try it. There are lots of things wrong with most of those pics.
3. Ha! I hear you. Not sure she was looking at anything actually. She was just sitting there, but of course, nobody else would know that by looking at the pic.
4. I doubt I was focusing on anything as I was just playing with the lens. I'm surprised I got anything in focus actually.

Honestly, those are pretty much straight from the cam other than the effect which I slapped in LR. I did not do any repairing or processing to them.
I probably should, but I did not get around to it yet. Do you think the nose can be saved? There is a near total lack of information for that area.

You are pretty much correct.
My choice is the way it came out of the cam, but I see that a lot of folks around here "clean up" their images a lot so I gave it a shot too. I always read about smooth skin... take out that wrinkle... etc.
I'm new at this stuff and still experimenting with stuff. Bottom line is... she's not 18. She is 31 and as such there will be some wrinkles and imperfections. And that's fine with me because I like her just the way she is.
