I just got a Tamron lens kit for my 20D. The 20D came with an 18-85mm. The Tamron kit has two lenses: 28mm-90mm, and 70mm to 300mm. Is there any reason to hold onto or use the 28mm-90mm? Or should I sell it to get some money back?

All you can really do is take a shot at 28mm with the tamron & then one with the canon at 18mm...have a good look & decide from there.

I have the 18-55 & to be honest ..its ok sharpness wise for a cheap lens.I use it at high ISO's & -1 expose to counter the slow f/stop thus keeping the shutter speed up.

I actually went & got the 10-22 because i like the wide effect of 10 more than 18mm.

For me i couldnt live with 28mm being my shortest.
