I've never posted before, but have enjoyed lurking. Decided to finally jump in. Hope I can get the picture part figured out!

I took a few pictures in the Old Bayview Cemetery in Corpus Christi this week. I love cemeteries - hunt them out wherever I go. This was right in town; right at the entrance to IH-37. It was a beautiful cemetery - lots of trees and fairly well maintained. It was sad, though, to see many of the monuments toppled and broken. Whether this was through vandalism or time/mother nature, I have no idea.

If you enjoy cemeteries and are in the Corpus area, it's well worth a visit.

Thanks for looking. Any comments are most welcome.

Hi Annie and welcome to Dgrin! So glad you're delurking :D

Cemeteries are fascinating, I agree, and I often find myself wondering the same thing about the monuments being tipped over. The wind can't always do that, right? But it's sad. I love your desaturated treatment here, as it fits the mood perfectly.

Thanks for sharing and we hope you find more cemeteries to shoot!

    Nice set.

I do cemeteries often. Always find wonderful shot opportunities there.

You should number your shots when posting more than three, for easier reference.

I too like the desaturated treatment.

My partner hates it when I photograph graves, for reasons I doubt I'll ever understand! It's not as though the dead can care. ne_nau.gif My favourite's the fourth image, incidentally.
