So many great photographers fall into this genre. It's hard not to miss some great ones:

Bruce Davidson, Dorthea Lange, Walker Evans.

In fact, any of the Magnum photographers is worth a good look. Being accepted by Magnum is sort of the closest thing there is to winning a Nobel Prize for photography.

Damon Winter was last year's Pulitzer winner in photography for his coverage of Obama's campaign in The New York Times. If you want to see some beautiful contemporary color examples of the PJ genre, take a look.

Where Was The Photographer Standing?
Mike Johnston's The Online Photographer is one of my favorite sites. Though Mike's team can get technical and gearhead-like now and then, the underlying orientation is on pure photographic practice.

On Sunday there was a thread relevant to "Street & PJ" shooting that calls attention to where you gotta be to get the shot. A great read.

www.nickturpin.com/work/street - current street photographer working in London and contibutor to the Street Photography Now book. Nick is a key voice in promoting street photography in recent years, and is an excellent practitioner of the art form. He's written a lot about street photography, so googling for that stuff would prove very insightful.

Welcome to Dgrin If you're looking for comments and feedback, it's probably better not to overwhelm the audience, so one at a time would be best. Many people here include links to their galleries in their signatures. You can also include a URL in your member profile.
