Finally, *finally* got a few hours to myself today. Told my wife I was committing "crimes against photography" and may not have been far off the mark.

Here's what I came up with. Reshoots definitely possible.

#1 My preferred medium
677587767_bPYwC-L.jpg

#2 Crayons
677593946_rmUxz-L-1.jpg

#3 A Rainbow of Colors
677592274_rSj6e-L.jpg

#4 A Rainbow of Colors (version 2)
677592999_6fkAq-L.jpg

#5 Self Portrait, Blue Period

The last one is actually my favorite, but unless you're familiar with this painting it probably doesn't make much sense, and as such, is probably not challenge-worthy. :cry

Excellent job recreating the Picasso. I have to say though, when I first saw it I did not like it, because I was not familiar with his similar self-portrait. But as a modern version of that classic, good job.

#1 and 5 - the others feel too open and loose in both comp and crop.

I really love the detail in #1 but am missing the why. Pretty much what my first attempt is suffering from - a why.

Not certain about the need for a why.

When I see your crayon in pic one, I think of writing the word Blue....perhaps writing others and scratching thru them or what not??

I really like #5, even without the context of the original painting. clap.gif

    Another one for #5! clap.gif

The crayon-thing has been presented before. But that Picasso-like image kicks butt!! thumb.gif

+1, although the first one is the strongest to me.

Hmm... maybe I need a "bake off" between 1 and 5. I'm leaning toward reshooting #1 just to clean it up.

I am concerned that #5 is a more polarizing image -- straddling the line of "too photoshoppy" and requiring specialized knowledge to fully appreciate. ne_nau.gif
